I love this guitar

I love this Ibanez guitar. It's an Artcore model. I am using flat wound 4th, 5th and 6th strings.
For the 3rd string I found a company online who can sell me individual .22 unwound strings.
The 2nd and first are .16 and .11. so it's a jazzy feel but totally useful for a lot of styles and you get enough tension to finger pick without getting too mushy as a 009 - 042 set would.
The flat wound bit is great because it doesn't tear up the finger tips the way round wound strings do so you can play longer without getting ragged fingertips. After all these years I found that these heavier than usual strings are even fine for rock and roll because my hands are strong from the last 10 years straight of playing an acoustic 12 string and also recording bass parts all of the time.
This is not an expensive guitar but it has many attributes of a more costly one. Everytime I open the case at a gig I look at her and fall in love again. I'm a sucker like that for an instrument. My wife doesn't know about this love affair she thinks we are just good friends so shhhhhhhhh!
